NEW NAIA Program In Florida

Keiser University Adds Men's Wrestling

Keiser University Flagstaff Campus located in West Palm Beach Florida has added a men's wrestling program to their list of Varsity sports. The wrestling team will compete in the competitive NAIA and they will compete in the Mid South conference. The team will be headed by former 2X NCAA Division 3 Champion Joe Bertolone. Joe won his national titles while competing for John Carroll University in Ohio. Coach "Bert" is in the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Florida Chapter and has 40 years of high school coaching experience.   Coach Nick Marcus will be an assistant for the first year program. Coach Marcus competed for Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa. Upon coming back to Florida, Coach Marcus coached at the high school level where he was responsible for coaching numerous state placers, 3 state finalists and a state champion. Coach Marcus also runs Top Tier Training which trains youth and high school wrestlers all over the state of Florida.  In addition to Coach Marcus will be Coach JT Taylor. Coach Taylor is a 4X Florida State Champion for Cardinal Gibbons High School.  After high school Coach Taylor went on to compete for Edinboro University.  JT now works with the West Palm Beach PAL and runs many different programs for the youth of West Palm Beach.

Keiser University will compete starting the 2019-2020 season and has already signed 10 student athletes to the team.  The most notable is 2012 state runner up from Florida Dillon Marcus.
